Designing a global workforce development strategy to enable WRI to turn big ideas into action at the nexus of environment, economic opportunity and human well-being.
Challenge: The World Resources Institute (WRI) had experienced tremendous growth over a five-year period, but to continue to expand the organization's footprint, it was critical that efforts related to talent were maximized, aligned and executed in order to ensure that mission-critical teams were positioned for success.
Collaboration: Emergent developed a human capital strategy that defined the optimal ROI for talent programs within WRI. Establishing core competencies, career path development and leadership training and putting increased attention to communication and collaboration all worked to re-energize the focus on talent at WRI.
Result: WRI now has a solid and consistent global learning and development strategy supporting multiple global offices and staff. In 2014, the organization received the"Best Places to Work"award from the Washington Post.
WRI is a global research organization that turns big ideas into action at the nexus of environment, economic opportunity and human well-being.
Jennifer at Emergent has been an effective partner for us with the planning and delivery of WRI's learning and development strategy. This partnership has helped us focus on talent development, in our efforts at developing and maintaining world class talent within our growing organization.
